Dear Friends,
At our Boys & Girls Club,
GREAT FUTURES START HERE. Futures are possible for 1,100 daily Club members we serve in the Burbank and Greater East Valley areas

Sylvia and our Broadway Dance Team. I’m also very proud of our 2010 Youth of the Year Aaliyah. Our Teen Program continue to grow and provide healthy opportunities for teens to live in challenging times.
The highlights listed here are just a few of the great achievements made possible through the generous support of our donors. Our Club needs your help to continue making

Youth of The Year

The Youth of the Year is Boys & Girls Club’s recognition program for Club members, promoting service to the Club, community and family, academic success, strong moral character, life goals, poise, and public speaking ability.
Aaliyah has been a member at the Boys & Girls Club for over five years. Growing up at the Boys & Girls Club, Aaliyah has been involved in numerous activities: Hip Hop class, Dance level 2 and 3, Secretary of our sports leadership program "Swoosh Club," acting classes, a member of Keystone Club, a host for our T.V. show "My Life my Conflicts," and volunteer with the Teen Program.
Even through all of her successes, Aaliyah managed to stay humble and supportive of her peers. Regardless of the activity, Aaliyah strives for the best with 110% effort. The professional staff agrees Aaliyah is always willing to try a new activity or participate in something she has never attempted. She has set the tone for other members to follow in her lead and participate! From a leadership club, to sports and even dance, Aaliyah loves it all. Through Aaliyah's eyes there is something for everyone at the Boy's & Girls Club.
Dancin' in New Orleans!

Girls from our Club had dreams of winning the National Boys & Girls Club Talent Search
Competition. Winners of the competition will perform in New Orleans. With the choreography of volunteer instructor Michelle Bouse, and guidance from Creative Arts Director, Sherry Delizia, 6 girls formed The Broadway Dance Team and submitted their entry to compete with 1,200 other contestants. Greta, Margo, Laura, Tyler, Annika, and Sylvia all had their dreams fulfilled when they received a standing ovation after their performance in New Orleans!

Chess Champions

Chess Coach, Kevin Bulone organizes free chess classes at our afterschool programs. Jordan Middle School chess winner, David N. (6th grade), was the middle school champion. Over 50 chess players competed throughout 5 schools.
This is the first year Jordan Middle School entered the competition. "David is a fast learner and loves chess. He continues to improve and is preparing for a larger tournament,” Kevin stated.
