The Learning Center is the first place all children go to when they arrive to the Burbank Club. Our Center contains many library books that children use for book reports or reading activities. With a television set, children come in on Fridays to watch the "Movie of the Week." Our incentive for doing your homework all week long.
The Learning Center would like to remind members that they need to be completing their homework in the Learning Center before they do other activities and that if they do not receive a Homework Pass, they will not get points to spend at Club Store.
During the summer, our Learning Center has both educational and recreational programs. Programs include the Ultimate Journey, which is our Nature and Science Program. We take our members to the local Nature Center in Stough Canyon to get a bit closer to the wilderness. Another program includes our Reading Clubs. Our Reading Club is a program where the children choose one book to read throughout the summer. When the members have completed the novel a Book Party is done with ice cream and a showing of the movie. Both the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts programs are conducted in the Learning Center as well.
Children must come in and start their homework in this room. All homework is checked by our tutor and a "Homework Pass" is issued to the children which grants them access to the rest of the club. For more information call 818-482-1073.
